Phillip Schofield does his royal wedding homework in the sun

Multi-tasking by sunbathing and studying at the same time!

Phillip Schofield enjoyed a day off from This Morning on Bank Holiday Monday – but that didn’t mean he wasn’t working!

The telly favourite shared a photo to Snapchat showing him doing “homework” ahead of hosting ITV’s coverage of the royal wedding later this month.

Phil, 56, was seen with his head bent down reading a book on the history of the royals.

Several pieces of printed paper and a ring binder could also be seen next to him, no doubt filled with notes and scripts for the big day.

He captioned the snap: “Royal wedding homework in the sun.”

Phil will co-host ITV’s coverage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding on Saturday, May 19.

He’ll be joined by ITV News at Ten’s Julie Etchingham, reporting live from Windsor as the couple tie the knot at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle before a carriage procession through the streets of Windsor.

Phil previously said: “So happy to be back with Julie, my royal wedding partner (we don’t get to work together very often!) and the brilliant team at ITV News.

“Put your hat on, we’re going to have a party!”

Phillip and Julie will anchor Harry and Meghan – The Royal Wedding from 9.25am until 3pm, broadcasting from a specially constructed studio on The Long Walk in Windsor.

They will welcome a string of guests to their studio during the day including friends of the royal family and experts, to dissect all the guests, fashion and, of course, what Meghan wears!

Meanwhile, poor old Phil didn’t have the best end to his Bank Holiday Sunday, after a water leak at his home.

The TV presenter shared a Snapchat video showing water steadily filling up in a small room, alongside the simple caption: “Well… [bleep].”

His clip showed water gushing out of a pipe. Oh dear!

However, the star swiftly fixed the leak, and updated fans by telling them: “Fixed. Now where is the [bleeping] mop?”

Mopping up a very wet floor isn’t the best way to end a lovely Bank Holiday Sunday, right?

Phillip and This Morning co-host Holly Willoughby had Bank Holiday Monday off from This Morning, with Ore Oduba and Lisa Snowdon filling in for them instead.

While Phil spent his Bank Holiday revising for the royal wedding and gardening naked (yes, really – here’s the proof!), Holly treated her three children to a day out at the football.
