Royal fans convinced the Queen ‘threw shade’ at Trump with her tiara choice

Was she sending a secret message?

Royal fans are convinced the Queen sent a secret message via her choice of tiara earlier this week.

Her Majesty hosted a lavish State Banquet at Buckingham Palace on Monday evening and more than 170 people attended the event, including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Princess Anne, Prince Charles as well as President Donald Trump and his wife, Melania.

The tiara features 96 rubies, which were originally given to the Queen as part of a necklace in 1947 as a wedding gift from the people of Myanmar, formerly known as Burma.

According to the people of Myanmar, the gems have the ability to protect their owner from sickness and evil.

Many royal fans were left convinced Her Majesty was subtly “throwing shade” at Trump with the tiara.

One person wrote: “Queen Elizabeth is a hero. That tiara she’s wearing is made up of 96 rubies gifted to her on her wedding day by the people of Burma to ward of disease.

“I adore her for her trolling Trump skills through the medium of jewellery.”

Another said: “Note the Queen’s choice of tiara,” alongside an explanation about the tiara.

It read: “The Queen’s Burmese Ruby Tiara is one of the most symbolic and personal pieces created for Her Royal Highness.

“The 96 rubies were originally given to the Queen as a wedding gift from the people of Burma, intended as a symbol of protection against illness and evil.”

A third tweeted: “The Queen wore her Burmese Ruby Tiara to protect herself from evil during Trump’s visit and I AM CACKLING.”

One person replied: “No one throws shade quite as well as Queen Elizabeth.”

Another joked: “Queen Elizabeth throwing some shade?!”

Meanwhile, during the State Banquet, Trump was slammed for appearing to fall asleep during the Queen’s speech.

In a clip circulating social media, the 72-year-old is seen with his eyes shut while sat between Her Majesty and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall.

As the Queen spoke about the relationship the UK and America share, Trump can be seen repeatedly closing his eyes.

At one point, he had his eyes shut for almost 10 seconds before suddenly jolting up.

Social media users were quick to share their thoughts, with many not impressed by the president’s antics.

One person said: “Good, god, he’s falling asleep at the royal dinner.”

Another wrote: “Yes it was the man sat there falling asleep beside the Queen. What a disgrace, again Trump shows his ignorance.”
