Ross Kemp ‘banished’ to other side of house while watching World Cup

He said he gets a little too excited

Former EastEnders actor Ross Kemp has said he is “banished to the other end of the house” during England’s World Cup matches.

Football fever has been gripping the nation and last week, Ross shared hilarious videos of himself topless as he celebrated England beating Colombia and Sweden.

Appearing on Monday’s Good Morning Britain, the star joked he has to watch England play on his own because he’s “a danger to myself and others”.

Ross said: “I have to watch it on my own. There is now a routine, I’m not going to jinx anything.

“‘I’m never going to play for England but there is a routine there and I’m not breaking it.”

He continued: “I generally have to watch it on my own because I’m a danger to myself and others.”

Explaining why he is never wearing a shirt in the videos, he said it’s “a hot room, clearly”.

Ross, who played Grant Mitchell in the BBC soap, is a father to twin daughters, Ava and Kitty, and a son, Leo, so said for that reason he is “banished to the other end of the house”.

Ross added that he is so determined to stick to his routine that he would turn down tickets to the semi-final.

He said: “They could offer me a Learjet all the way to Moscow with caviar and whatever you want, fine wines. I am staying in my little hot room with my two beers because it’s working.

“We should all be incredibly proud of those guys. We have to beat them, come on England.”

At the weekend, Ross took to Twitter to share a string of hilarious clips as he watched England’s game against Sweden.

After Harry Maguire knocked in the first goal for England, Ross posted a video of himself screaming “yes”.

In the clip he added: “Now, we hold. We do not let give in. We do not allow them to score.”

Minutes later, Ross shared another clip to praise England’s goalkeeper Jordan Pickford for saving a goal.

Following England’s win on Saturday, Ross shared a final clip of himself chatting to his son Leo.

In the clip, he says: “Son, do we love England? Can you say it?”

Leo sweetly replies: “We love England!”

Ross then says to the camera: “We love England and everyone now should be worried about facing us. Bring it on.”

Fans were left in hysterics over Ross’ videos.

One person said: “I respect how intense you are in this, Ross,” while another wrote: “I literally love you for these posts!!”

A third added: “Love the passion! We should all take a bit of Kemp’s love for England. No negativity and be proud.”

It’s safe to say, we’re looking forward to his next video when England play Croatia in the World Cup semi-final on Wednesday.
