Back-to-school blues

Fresh from her long, hot summer, which saw the star holidaying with Holly Willoughby, Rochelle Humes has taken her “big girl” back to school.

This Morning host Rochelle – who is mum to Alaia-Mai, six, and two-year-old Valentina with husband Marvin Humes – revealed she got a “lump” in her throat as she dropped her eldest off at the school gates.

Sharing a picture of Alaia in the car on the way to school, Rochelle and the tot could be seen sweetly holding hands.

The former Saturdays singer said: “Got a little lump a throat dropping my big girl off for her first day in year 2.”

And, sharing a sentiment that parents up and down the country can no doubt relate to, she added: “Considering I was desperate for the summer holidays to be finished I actually feel quite sad about it, anyone else?”

Her followers agreed, saying that while it’s hard to occupy the kids for six weeks, they’re all feeling the back-to-school blues.

One said: “I’ve just sat and cried in the school car park for ten minutes.”

Little Alaia, however, didn’t seem to have any nerves at all as she headed back to school.

Rochelle also shared a cute video to her Instagram Stories of the youngster singing and dancing along to Normani’s Motivation.

Dad Marvin appeared to miss his daughter’s first day back at school as he posted a video of himself working alongside Craig David in Ibiza.

Last month, Rochelle revealed that she was suffering from shingles for the third time, with her This Morning pal Holly sending her get well wishes.
