Four Of Diamonds’ luck has finally run out as they became the latest act to be eliminated from The X Factor.
The girl group had already been given a reprieve once, when judge Louis Walsh chose to bring them back after his act Brooks Way dropped out of the ITV show.
But their run came to an end this week after they went up against Finnish hopeful Saara Aalto in a tense sing-off.
The girls – who only got together a week before they auditioned for the judges – admitted they were a bit “lost for words” after getting their marching orders but said it had been a wonderful experience.
They added: “It is a huge platform for us to get out into the industry.
“We are so graceful for the opportunity.”
Four Of Diamonds found themselves in the bottom two after Saturday’s Girlband and Boyband show, where they performed Wilson Phillips’ Hold On.

They gave a stronger rendition of Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey’s When You Believe in the sing-off, but it was not enough to beat Saara’s stunning performance of Jessie J’s Who You Are, which had judge Sharon Osbourne on her feet.
Sharon, who mentors Saara in the overs category, chose to save her own act as did Louis with his girl group, leaving the decision to Nicole Scherzinger and Simon Cowell.
They both agreed that Saara had “killed it” in the sing-off.
Former Pussycat Doll Nicole took a second to deliberate over who to send packing, as Sharon urged “Do the right thing Nicki”, but then said she had to save Saara.
Simon agreed, saying: “The person, or act, who I have to keep is the one who has the ability to turn it around still in this competition, and by a clear mile killed it in the sing-off.
“So the act I have to send home is Four Of Diamonds.”
The results show also featured performances from Emeli Sande and Robbie Williams, who admitted to being a fan of controversial rapper Honey G.

Robbie, who helped Sharon choose her contestants when he was her guest at the judges’ houses stage of the competition, said he loved Honey and Saara and was also a big fan of group 5AM.
“The boys did really great last night,” he said.
At the end of the show host Dermot O’Leary spun the X Factor jukebox to determine the theme for next week, and it landed on disco.
