We're glad he's not going anywhere!

Eamonn Holmes has revealed he turned down the chance of earning huge sums of money in Russia.

The presenter says he was approached by Russian TV execs to host World Cup coverage when the football competition takes place this summer.

The 58-year-old described the wage on offer as “life-changing” but still said no.

Eamonn told The Mirror: “They offered me more than I have been offered to do anything.

“But I don’t think it would be advisable. I think the whole propaganda thing…I don’t think it would have been a wise career move.

“It impacts on who you are and what you do and it would impact on Ruth’s career.”

Eamonn added it was currently his wife’s “moment, her time” and it would be selfish for him to deny her her success, saying he’d regularly be dragging them off to Moscow, even though the job was based in London.

Ruth appeared on the last series of Strictly Come Dancing, which catapulted her to a new level of fame.

The husband and wife host This Morning every Friday and fill in when regular hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield are away.

They held the fort this week as Holly revealed she’d been enjoying her half-term break in the Alps, posting stunning photos of the scenery.

Meanwhile Eamonn added some cheeky charm to the show as Ruth accused him of patting her bottom live on air.

It happened when 57-year-old Ruth and Eamonn, 58, came back from a break during Thursday’s episode and were standing next to a counter on the set of the show.

Obviously feeling his hand brushing past her, Ruth suddenly stopped and looked down towards her bottom and said: “Did you just touch my bottom? I think you did!”

We’re glad Eamonn’s not going anywhere! We’d miss these two on our screens each week!

Meanwhile, it was recently announced Eamonn and Ruth will front a new Channel 5 consumer entertainment show called Do The Right Thing.

The show has been described as a “people-driven, live audience programme which puts the spotlight on rogue companies and red tape, whilst championing consumer stories and creating emotional reunions”.
