X Factor reject considered prostitution after going broke following stint on show

The quirky star appeared on the show last year in a bid for fame

X Factor reject Ottavio Columbro has admitted he considered becoming a prostitute after going broke following his stint on the singing competition show last year.

Ottavio appeared on the show in 2016 as part of double act Bratavio with friend Bradley Hunt.

But shortly after his stint Ottavio became strapped for cash and considered anything to help him get back on his feet.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Ottavio said: “I’ve had quite a few offers of sex for cash. One guy in his sixties offered me £10,000 for one night.

“Another guy offered me £2,000 to wear Victoria’s Secret clothing and let him take pictures.

“I was gobsmacked and said no but I kind of regret not taking up those offers.”

He added: “I do like older men and I needed the money.”

Ottavio went on to explain that he finally managed to get a job in Tesco and is currently working there part-time jobs in order to save cash to start a new life in Essex.

But he admitted he struggled to find employment in other high street stores because he was “too famous”.

He told The Sun previously: “Perhaps because I was on X Factor they think I want to be a celebrity and have a TV career so won’t be sticking around.

“But that’s not true. I’ve got a new agent and have been in talks about appearing on a new TV show, but I do want a full-time job and would give it my all.

“X Factor was an amazing platform to get myself noticed and an incredible experience but I don’t see myself above working and earning a living. I’m getting interviews but just not jobs.

“I’m a hard worker and just want a chance to show what I can do.”

Ottavio and Bradley made it through to the live shows but definitely caused some controversy during their time on the show.

The pop duo made a long-lasting impression on the judges after nearly refusing to perform over an argument about pink chicken.

With the encouragement of the judges to pair went on to perform Buttons by the Pussycat dolls.

Their flamboyant outfits and outgoing personalities also made them a love/hate act with viewers.

Since the show Ottavio has not yet given up on his pop star dreams and released a single, I Don’t Wanna Be Us, which is out now.

The 14th series of the show started a few weeks ago.
