‘It’s been really painful’: Corey Feldman reacts to jokes about his TV appearance

Former teen heartthrob said he ‘can’t get out of bed’ after online backlash

Corey Feldman is not happy.

In fact, according to People magazine, he sobbed during a Facebook Live post this weekend that has since been deleted.

The teen heartthrob is apparently devastated that he has been ridiculed online and in the media for his appearance on US breakfast TV.

On Friday the 45-year-old performed live on the Today show, singing and dancing to his new song Go 4 It.

But his robotic moves and all female backing band, Corey’s Angels – who looked like they were plucked off the top of a Christmas tree – quickly became a trending topic and the butt of online jokes.

“We just wanted to tell everybody that, like, it’s been really painful,” Feldman apparently said.

“We put ourselves out there and we did the best that we could. And, like, I’ve never had such mean things said about me. Like constantly.”

Feldman said the comments were so bad he and his band mates were struggling to get out of bed, let alone go out in public.

“We can’t get out of bed right now,” he said. “We’re petrified to even go out…

“And I’m sorry, but we just wanted the world to know, like, we’re really freaked out over this and it’s really not fair.”

Us Weekly dubbed Feldman’s performance as “truly bizarre.” Yahoo News reported about it with the headline: “Things you can’t unsee.”

The comments on Twitter were even more brutal with one user writing on Friday morning: “I’m usually against cyber bullying but Corey Feldman is just asking for it.”

Another person tweeted: “I truly feel bad for Corey Feldman. At first I just thought he was a mediocre actor, then I watched the Today Show.”

But at least one person has come to his defence and congratulated him on a good job.

The actor’s Stand By Me co-star Jerry O’Connell tweeted that he was “proud of” the actor.

In his deleted Facebook Live post Feldman star said: “It was a song OK? It wasn’t that weird.

“I'm sorry if it’s not good enough for you, but you don’t have to beat us up.”
