Real Housewives star “terrified” as she undergoes hysterectomy

Dawn Ward, who has four daughters, was "dreading" the operation

Real Housewives of Cheshire star Dawn Ward was admitted to hospital for a hysterectomy – and was understandably anxious.

The reality TV star wrote on Twitter that she was “dreading” the operation.

“Dawn is absolutely terrified, but for her own health,” a source told The Sun Online.

“It’s something that’s been long-brewing but Dawn being Dawn, she puts business first.”

Dawn, 43, has been in a spat with her former BFF Leanne Brown, which has added to her worries.

“Her family and closest friends have all rallied round to support her,” added the source. “She’s been under a lot of stress.”

On the eve of her operation, Dawn was retweeting messages from well-wishers.

“Want to say a huge thank you for everyone’s lovely messages,” she wrote. “Very kind of you.”

Interior designer Dawn has four daughters, Darby, Taylor, Charlie and Aston, with her ex-footballer husband Ashley Ward.

She credits Ashley for his support, describing herself as “the luckiest lady in the world” for being his wife.

“He’s a diamond,” she says.

In the first series of The Real Housewives of Cheshire, Dawn expressed her wish to have another child.

Dawn has been upset by the fallout with Leanne, who was one of her closest friends. Their dispute was reportedly over a loan.

“If I’d been told a year ago that we’d have fallen out, I wouldn’t have believed it,” said Dawn. “We were like sisters.”

Dawn had previously spoken of her friendship with Leanne. “She’s extremely loyal and always tells you what she thinks,” said Dawn.

“She’s got a beautiful heart and if you ever have a problem, she’s always there.”
