The Queen’s “sexiest royal” great-nephew Arthur Chatto is set to become the first member of the royal family to join the Royal Marines as a Commando.

Arthur, 22, reportedly told Her Majesty the news last week.

Arthur is the son of Princess Margaret’s only daughter, Sarah and 29th in line to the throne.

And now he’s set to go one step further than his cousin, Prince Edward, who dropped out of training course in 1987.

A source told The Sun newspaper: “He told the Queen all about it and she’s pleased and proud. Prince Edward has been very supportive.

“Arthur has even been going off into the wilds at Balmoral with all his kit and camping out as he prepares for the commando training.

“He has gone straight into the officer training in this year’s intake and is very keen and up for it.

Arthur Chatto dubbed “sexiest royal”

Arthur is a personal trainer and model during his day job, but is obviously fit as a fiddle.

In every sense.

On his now-deleted Instagram account, the royal posed topless in a number of snaps and made followers swoon.

In fact, one dubbed him the “sexiest royal”.

But he’s been backing it up with some athletic endeavour, too.

Arthur was part of the youngest team to row around the British Isles, and holds two Guinness World Records for the trip – youngest man and part of the youngest team to do it.

He said on the Bound Fitness Instagram page: “I’m a level 3 personal trainer, I specialise in strength and endurance training with a military focus.”

What other royals have been part of the military?

Arthur Chatto follows in a long line of royals and military service.

Prince Philip was a war hero in World War II, while Prince Charles served in the RAF.

His two sons, meanwhile, both served.

Prince William followed in his father’s footsteps in the Air Force, while Prince Harry became a captain in the British Army.

Harry saw action in Afghanistan twice, once in 2008 and once in 2012.
