Public service announcement: Tom Hardy is on CBeebies tonight

We'll definitely be watching this... alone

Mums will be in for a treat tonight as Tom Hardy is returning to CBeebies to tell a bedtime story.

The Hollywood heartthrob, who plays Alfie Solomons in Peaky Blinders, will grace our screens on Tuesday evening to read Odd Dog Out to viewers.

The CBeebies official Twitter page shared a clip of Tom, 42, sat down reading part of the story.

In the clip, Tom says: “But wait, look closer, can you see? One dog… behaving differently.

“Somebody this afternoon is whistling a different tune. Here’s something she knows all about… a classic case of Odd Dog Out.”

We might not have Alfie Solomons but we do have Tom Hardy.

The post was captioned: “We might not have Alfie Solomons but we do have Tom Hardy.

“Take a Peaky at this Blinder. Tune in at 6:50pm for Odd Dog Out.”

Of course, fans went into meltdown and its clear many mums will be putting their kids to bed before the show airs.

Another wrote: “TOM HARDY ALERT. A bit of #TuesdayMotivation to brighten up the dark morning don’t you think @CBeebiesHQ.”

A third joked: “How many mums are going to be watching this. ‘Right kids you’re going to bed now, mummy wants to watch bed time stories,’ lol.”

Last month, fans were delighted when Tom returned to Peaky Blinders as Jewish gangster Alfie Solomons.

Tom played Alfie in series two, three and four, with the character being killed off in the final episode of series four.

During an episode last month, Alfie was found by Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) alive and well, even though the Brummie gang leader had shot him in the face at the end of series four.

One viewer said: “That voice. That face,” while another wrote: “Wow… just wow!!!”

A third added: “Just watched CBeebies bedtime stories with Tom Hardy. It’s a combo of sleep deprivation and my insane crush…but I was totally captivated and just replied Night Night.”
