Prince William and Kate named as baby Archie’s parents in royal website blunder

There was a bit of a mix up!

| Updated:

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Kate, were accidentally listed as royal baby Archie’s parents in an error on the official royal website.

Prince Harry and Meghan’s little one was born on Monday, but when the palace announced the news online there was a rather large blunder.

Archie Harrison, the first child of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, was listed as “the first child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge”, who are his aunt and uncle.

According to The Sun, the statement, which has since been corrected, read: “Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was born at 5:26 on Monday 6th May. He is the first child of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and is the seventh in line to the throne”.

The mistake was then quickly rectified on the website’s page for the royal baby.

The palace then sent out an apology and explained there had been a technical failure.

It would have come as a surprise to Kate, 37, and 36-year-old Wills, who already have three children to look after!

The couple have Prince George, five, Princess Charlotte, four, and one-year-old Louis.
