Meghan Markle to donate Prince Archie’s clothes and toys during tour of Africa

Archie is growing fast - what better use of his presents from the public?

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will donate presents sent to baby Archie from royal fans to families in Africa.

The Express claims Meghan resolved to re-gift surplus clothing and toys ahead of the start of touching down in Cape Town in South Africa today.

An anonymous palace insider is quoted as saying: “The Duke and Duchess were inundated with gifts for baby Archie from organisations and the general public.

“They were incredibly grateful but one little baby can only wear so many clothes and he’s growing fast!

“So the Duchess decided to bring a number of his presents to re-gift them to South African children and families most in need.”

Meghan is also due to make a “last-minute” visit to the mothers2mothers charity, which is dedicated to preventing mother-to-child transmission of HIV, but her exact schedule has not been confirmed.

It is believed she will bestow clothes, books and pens to the non-profit organisation.

Another palace source is reported to have told People magazine that the couple are “very much looking forward” to their first official tour as a family.

They added: “Africa holds a very special place in the Duke’s heart and he’s looking forward to sharing South Africa with the Duchess and their son.”

After touring South Africa, Harry will make solo visits to Botswana, Angola and Malawi before rejoining Meghan and their little boy.

The source added: “[The tour will] truly demonstrate the modern UK-Africa partnership in action. It’s a busy program – which is four countries in ten days.

“And obviously, we have an extra special small passenger to make things a little more lively.”
