Pregnant Helen Flanagan reveals toddler shopping woes

She is eight months pregnant with her second child

Pregnant Helen Flanagan has been adjusting to life away from the Coronation Street set after starting maternity leave last week.

And on Friday, she told fans she had a whole day out planned including lunch and shopping…

But, er, the latter never happened thanks to two-year-old daughter Matilda!

Helen, 27, shared a photo to social media showing her blossoming baby bump clad in olive dungarees and a black long-sleeved jumper.

She added the caption: “Me this lunch time looking forward to a nice day in town 👨‍👩‍👧 and a bit of shopping 🛍 however we got no shopping done just ran around after our wild child as we thought to put Matilda on reins and Matilda had the worst potty training accident ever (sic).”

Helen, who is eight months pregnant, added hashtags including, “good job she’s cute”, “back pain” and “shopping with toddlers”.

Fans were quick to sympathise with the soap star, with one telling her: “Nausea plus potty training accidents are never a good combination!”

Another said: “Happens to us all!!”

A third added: “Thankful I’m finished with that! Imagine how much money you’ll save on diapers once she is trained. There is a light at the of the tunnel.”

Helen and Celtic footballer Scott, 29, announced a second child was on the way at Christmas, and just last week they revealed the baby will be another daughter.

Helen told OK! magazine: “We would have been thrilled if it was a girl or a boy, I’m just lucky to be able to have a baby. I will love this baby just as much as I do Matilda.”

She filmed her final Coronation Street scene nearly two weeks ago before taking maternity leave, and has promised her character Rosie Webster will go out in style!

“I’m going out in very much a Rosie style – the storyline is hilarious,” she told Loose Women, adding: “But I have enjoyed that about my character, doing comedy has been great.”

She’s also insisted Rosie will be back, but hasn’t given a timeline for her return.

While exact details about Rosie’s exit storyline have not been revealed, we do know it’s going to feature This Morning duo Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield!

Corrie boss Kate Oates recently told Metro: “We’re kind of replaying a bit of a trick we have used before because Rosie has already been on shows but it will be great comedy.

“I had a couple of hopes where I thought I could get them to slightly play against type! They’re such good sports – I am very happy.”

Helen quit Corrie in 2011 but returned last year.

She said of her second pregnancy: “It was a surprise – I’d just gone back to Coronation Street and I was really enjoying that, but obviously it’s a blessing and I feel really lucky to be expecting another baby, but it wasn’t in the plan.”

Fans have been telling Helen to enjoy her maternity leave and wishing her luck with the new arrival, but also urging her to stay true to her word and return as Rosie!
