Eamonn Holmes predicts Love Island spin-off show

This could be, er, interesting...

This Morning host Eamonn Holmes has joked that there should be a Love Island spin-off show called “Silver Surfers Island”.

The cheeky Irishman made the hilarious suggestion while appearing on Celebrity Big Brother sister show, Bit On The Side with This Morning colleague Rylan Clark.

Eamonn’s joke followed the rumours this week that he had turned down a whopping £800,000 to appear on the current series of Celebrity Big Brother.

The television host was quick to deny rumours as he talked about the claims on This Morning – confirming that he’d not told Channel 5 producers that he ‘didn’t need the money’ as had been reported.

Appearing on CBBBOTS, Eamonn joked about the other reality TV shows he could have appeared on, and Love Island seemed to be his preferred choice.

He joked to Rylan, “As regards to me being asked to do Love Island next year…”

Rylan then interrupted his friend and co-host saying: “There is no way I would ever let you do that!”

But Eamonn wasn’t so easily put off and suggested a different approach to the show’s format… “But think if you had a couples’ Love Island, if Ruth came on it and it would be like a Silver Surfers Island!”

The usual ITV2 show sees singletons pairing up in a Mallorcan villa over a series of weeks – with the winning couple being awarded £100,000.

There is already a lot of excitement surrounding the next series of Love Island, following the huge success of the show in 2017.

The last series was watched by 2.9 million viewers at it’s peak and now ITV bosses are looking for a new selection of single Brits to join the next series.

Could Ruth and Eamonn be part of the new line up?!
