Poundland launches free invisibility cloaks for Halloween

"I can't work out if this is hilarious or ridiculous!"

Poundland are selling ‘invisibility’ cloaks in the lead up to Halloween – but you might struggle to get your hands on one.

The bargain high street chain are offering the cloaks free in stores this week as part of their Halloween range.

Poundland trading director Tim Bettley said: “We intended to trial this item last year, but couldn’t find it in the distribution centre.

“But now we’ve found it, we think our customers will see the value, if not the cloak.”

Poundland tweeted about the product earlier this week and it wasn’t long before the hilarious responses rolled in.

“Does your Newtownards store stock these, I just checked but couldn’t see them,” one joked.

“I can’t work out if this is hilarious or ridiculous,” another replied.

Another wrote, “Are you trying to get your Twitter crown back from Coleen?”

“I’d have so much fun with this pretending the grandkids became invisible when they wore it,” wrote a fourth.

Shoppers in London, Salford, Bristol, Newcastle, Leeds and Birmingham will be able to get their hands on one – well, the plastic hanger at least.

The cloak is part of a huge Halloween range, which features more than 270 products this year.

Harry Potter fans can also stock up on other Potter-themed products, including Harry-inspired round glasses and wands.

They’re also stocking a wide range of spooky rubber ducks and decorations.
