Pop Idol’s Michelle McManus makes exciting announcement that sends fans wild

It has been a while since we heard anything from singer Michelle McManus, so it’s no wonder that her new announcement has excited fans so much.

Pop Idol winner Michelle has told her fans that she is now married to hubby Jeff Nimmo.

She tweeted her delight and even posted pictures of her beautiful wedding day.

Her first tweet showed a picture of her and husband with confetti being thrown over them.

She tagged her husband in the tweet and said: “So……@jnim86 and I had a lovely wee weekend. Love from the new Mr & Mrs Nimmo.”

In her following tweet she said: “Well I guess it’s true….All you need is love after all #The Nimmo’s.”

The couple tied the knot in the Scottish Highlands, as Michelle is from Glasgow.

Fans were so happy for the couple and they were inundated with lovely comments.

One fan tweeted: “Huge congratulations you lovely pair you.”

Another said: “Congratulations you both look stunning.”

A third said: “So happy for you Michelle. You look a million dollars!!”

“Huge congratulations to you both, and wishing you many years of happiness!” said a fourth.

“Congratulations to you both!! You make a beautiful bride. Wishing you all the happiness in the world,” said a fifth.

Michelle and Jeff have been together for two years, and Jeff proposed last year while they were on holiday in Tenerife.

After her engagement Michelle told the Daily Record that Jeff was her “first proper ­boyfriend.”

She said: “I’m walking on air. It’s all because I’ve met a really nice guy and we are getting married. I think deep down I wondered if it was ever going to happen to me.

“Jeff is my first proper ­boyfriend. Up until I met him, I had gone my entire life having never met the right guy. I ­suppose the only upshot of this is I’ve never had my heart broken.

“I have dated guys in the past but either I have not ­fancied them enough or they haven’t fancied me but with Jeff it has been different.”

Michelle won Pop Idol in 2003 and the nation fell in love with her.
