The authorities have failed to locate the suspect

A manhunt has been launched by police after a body was found at the home of an award-winning TV talk show host.

One of the biggest stars in Canada is having his Hollywood Hills home searched by police after a break-in turned in to murder.

George Stroumboulopoulos, the host of popular Canadian TV talk show Stombo, was not at his property at the time and has confirmed that it was a burglary gone wrong.

George said: “The victim was a dear friend of mine, who was staying at my place while I was away.”

He continued: “I am heartbroken.”

Los Angeles police have confirmed that it was Canadian actor Richard Hong that was killed during the robbery.

They have said that the 41-year-old died of blunt force trauma.

Officer Aareon Jefferson of the LAPD told The Canadian Press that witnesses directed police to the body.

They said it was an “apparent homicide” victim and also said that they saw a man in a black jacket fleeing the area.

A search of the neighbourhood has failed to locate the suspect.

The award-winning talk show host has interviewed many of the world’s most high-profile stars.

The 44-year-old had a show on Canadian broadcaster CBC from 2005 to 2014.
