Piers Morgan sparks concern as he’s caught up in earthquake

The presenter is enjoy a holiday in Los Angeles

Piers Morgan has revealed he’s been caught up in an earthquake in Los Angeles, California.

The Good Morning Britain presenter told his fans on Twitter a 2.8 magnitude tremor shook his property, causing him to wake up.

Piers, who is enjoying his Easter break, described the earthquake as a “smallish rattle-and-roller” but “unnerving”.

He shared a snap of a map of the area showing a mobile alert declaring an earthquake.

Piers wrote: “Well, the bed most definitely moved for me… Just been woken up in LA by a 2.8 magnitude earthquake. Epicentre a mile from my house in Beverly Hills.

“Just a smallish rattle-and-roller but always rather unnerving, especially as California’s due another ‘Big One’.”

American rapper Cardi B then tweeted: “Ommmgg I never felt a earthquake till today! [Expletive] I’m scare! (sic)”

Piers replied: “It was only 2.8. Do get a grip, Ms B.”

Of course, fans were quick to express concern for Piers and made sure he was okay.

One person said: “Thanks for the check in Piers… glad to know you are safe,” while another wrote: “Keep safe.”

A third added: “Yikes. Stay safe,” while a fourth said: “Hope you’re okay Piers.”

If you didn’t know, the ‘Big One’ refers to a large scale earthquake on the Cascadia Subduction, which could rip through California and the west coast of the USA in mere minutes and  cause a tsunami.

Piers is currently enjoying his Easter break in the states while presenter Richard Madeley fills in for him on GMB alongside Charlotte Hawkins.

But it seems fans are already wanting Piers back and begged the star to hurry back from his holiday.

Piers shared a snap of himself and son Spencer, 25, enjoying lunch in Malibu.

He captioned the post: “Sushi in the sun with son No1. #malibu #nobu.”

Fans begged Piers to return to the UK, with one person commenting: “Hurry back, cant stand Richard Madeley.”

Another moaned: “The mornings just aren’t the same on @gmb !!! Enjoy !!” while a third added: “Get back to morning TV, can’t stand it without you.”
