Piers Morgan looks unrecognisable in throwback snap as he pays tribute to late grandmother

Those shorts though

TV’s Piers Morgan has shared a touching tribute to his “magnificently rebellious” grandmother on the anniversary of her death.

The controversial presenter, 54, took to Instagram to remember his grandmother, whom he called “Grande”, by sharing throwback snap of the two of them spending time together.

The pic showed the Good Morning Britain host looking much younger in a printed T-shirt and tiny white shorts with a red-kiss pattern.

He wrote in the caption: “‘One day you’re cock of the walk, the next you’re a feather duster’.

“RIP Grande, my magnificently rebellious grandmother who died six years ago today but lives on in my spirit and many other spirits – and who regularly reminded me of that very wise life guidance.”

In the comments, Piers’ fans posted to tell him how sweet they found his tribute.

One said: “Awww bless your heart, what an amazing picture.”

Another wrote: “Love this quote. Very true, clearly a very wise woman.”

A third told him: “Very wise lady. Those shorts though…”

You look so much like Mark Zuckerberg.

And Piers’ GMB co-star Richard Arnold responded: “And THERE you are. I’ve always said you can always trust a man with a Nan.”

But a number of other followers couldn’t help noticing Piers’ striking resemblance in the pic to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, while others thought he looked more like the character Screech from ’80s sitcom Saved by the Bell.

“You look so much like Mark Zuckerberg,” said one, and another wrote, “We’re just gonna pretend that Mark Zuckerberg wasn’t cloned from Piers Morgan… okay”.

“Is that Mark Zuckerberg in the shorts?” asked a third.

“That’s a lovely picture of your grandmother and Screech from Saved by the Bell,” said one joker, while another simply put, “Screech” with a crying-laughing emoji.

It follows reports that Piers was advised to evacuate his home in Los Angeles due to the California wildfires.

Fans expressed their concern for the dad-of-four after he shared a photo of two evacuation alerts he received on his phone at 4am that warned him fires were less than three miles away.
