Piers Morgan has spoken about his marriage to author Celia Walden, saying she gives him “the silent treatment” when she’s annoyed.
In an interview with New magazine, Piers, 52, admitted that when he says offensive things on TV, Celia, 42, doesn’t tell him off, opting instead to say nothing at all!
He says: “It’s more the silent treatment. She’s usually very pleasant about it all. She understands my job is based purely around my opinions.
“If people agree, they tend to like you. If they don’t, they hate you! There’s no middle ground. Twitter is like a mob. Someone decides what the views should be and everyone is supposed to go along with it – no!”
Piers added to Best magazine: “If I’ve said or done something stupid, ice descends on the house.”
The pair married in 2010, and have a daughter, Elise, six.
Piers also has three sons, Spencer, 24, Stanley, 20, and Albert, 17, from his previous marriage to Marion Shalloe.
The Good Morning Britain host added that having a daughter has been an interesting change of pace, saying: “It’s different. My boys are like dogs, throw them out and they’ll pay football all day.
“Girls are more manipulative, my little girl is a master of getting what she wants out of me. When her friends come over, they change costumes five times an hour!”

It comes the same week Piers revealed to the Radio Times he resigned from GMB last year because the early starts each morning were just too difficult to handle.
But bosses persuaded him to stay by changing the time he’s needed at the studio.
Piers explained: “I actually quit in the summer. I said, ‘I’m out,’ because I couldn’t do it any more. Then we came to a new arrangement, which is great.”
According to reports, the TV star was previously asked to be in work for 4am, giving him two hours until GMB starts broadcasting at 6am.
But under his new deal, he only has to arrive at the TV studios at 5.30am.
His co-host Susanna Reid, however, still clocks in at 4am, although Piers said that’s largely because she requires longer in hair and make-up than he does.
“The only reason, really, I had to go in so early was because the female stars all have to. It takes them longer because they get more attention and pressure on how they look, how their hair is and everything else,” said Piers.
“I’m lucky – five minutes of slap and on I go.”
