Piers Morgan explains his bizarre behaviour on today’s Good Morning Britain

Viewers were concerned

Good Morning Britain’s Piers Morgan has shared a health update on social media after he appeared more subdued than normal on the programme.

The presenter, 54, adopted a calmer presenting style on the programme this morning (17.09.19), and when he was asked about it on Twitter, he explained that a number of factors had combined to turn him into “a zombie”.

One GMB viewer tweeted to him: “Must say @piersmorgan is very calm this morning. Can someone stir him up please! @gmb.”

Piers replied: “My raging insect-bite knee infection, consequent lack of sleep, antibiotics and strong painkillers have turned me into a zombie. Apologies.”

His adoring fans rushed to reply and wish him well, with one writing, “So glad you’re on antibiotics for your tick bite, as you don’t ever want to risk getting Lyme disease. Get well soon!”

Another said: “Get well soon, Piers. The nation needs you!”

A third told him: “You did better than most on a good day, very painful, tough old boot.”

Piers is well known for his controversial rants on GMB. But earlier this week, it was his friendship with Susanna Reid that appeared to land him in hot water.

His wife, Celia Walden, was seemingly unimpressed after he joked he would sleep with his co-host.

In a new interview with the Mail On Sunday’s Event magazine, Piers quipped that he and Susanna would “be at it like stoats in a sack” if they were both single.

But it wasn’t long before Celia expressed dismay over her husband’s comments as she shared a pic of the magazine cover on Instagram.

The cover showed a photo of Piers and Susanna alongside the caption: “If we were both single we’d be at it like stoats in a sack.”

Celia captioned the post: “The headline every wife wants to read on a Sunday morning #mythoughtsarewithsusanna.”

Piers’ fans were gutted earlier this month after the presenter dropped a pretty big bombshell about his GMB contract.

When BGT’s Amanda Holden came onto the show as a guest, she asked him how much longer he had left on his contract and Piers admitted it’s up before Christmas.
