Piers Morgan is on a mission to get in shape ahead of GMB return

It comes after a jibe about his weight

Breakfast TV’s Piers Morgan has revealed he is on a fitness mission.

The Good Morning Britain host shared his new exercise regime with fans on Instagram and declared he won’t be trying any quick fixes to get in shape.

It comes after a debate about weight erupted on Good Morning Britain earlier this month, and a guest told Piers: “You’re not exactly slim.”

But the workout routine Piers has opted for comes at a hefty price. The 54-year-old shared a snap of his exercise bike and it is one of the state-of-the-art Peloton bikes, which start at around £2000.

Piers has been using the plush gym equipment at his home in Beverly Hills during his break from GMB.

He posted a quote alongside his picture for some motivation. The caption read: “‘There is no magic pill’ – Arnold Schwarzenegger. @onepeloton.”

Retired footballer Jamie Redknapp enthused over Piers’ post and commented: “How good are they!”

Clearly happy with his new exercise gadget, Piers replied with : “Superb.”

Fans speculated that Piers will look like a new man when he returns to his GMB post after his summer holiday.

“Oh my are we going to see a new Piers return to our telly?” asked one follower.

Another added: “Waiting to see the result in September.”

Piers’ exercise mission comes after his weight was commented on.

It happened when Piers got into a heated GMB debate with plus-size model Angelina Duplisea, who stars in Miley Cyrus’ new music video.

Piers argued that the video is “celebrating a dangerous weight”.

Angelina hit back: “If you were really concerned about people being obese and representing something bad, you would take yourself off the air because you’re not exactly slim yourself.”

Piers cut in: “I’m 220 pounds and I’m 6ft1, you’re 5ft4 and you’re 380 pounds so there’s a difference. I’m not morbidly obese.”
