GMB viewers correct Piers Morgan after Heathrow fail

Oops

Good Morning Britain viewers wasted no time in correcting Piers Morgan on Tuesday’s show.

Viewers were baffled after the outspoken presenter said Heathrow Airport is in “the middle of the country.”

Piers and Susanna Reid were talking to former Education Secretary Justine Greening about the government’s plans to expand Heathrow Airport.

Justine – who is the MP for Putney – argued that it’s better to have any airport away from London.

However, Piers didn’t agree and hit back: “We’re just rabbiting. In China, they’d have built five new runways like this in the space we’ve been just talking nonsense.”

Piers said Heathrow Airport is “one of the world’s great airports” to is a “massive boon to this country.”

He continued: “And it seems so classically British, that rather than expand again on what is something that is great, in a perfect location, right bang in the middle of the country, that everybody likes to use – no, no we’re going to go and put it up in Burnley.”

But viewers called out Piers and pointed out that Heathrow is not in the middle of the country.

One person wrote on Twitter: “Heathrow in the middle of the country? Not according to my geography!”

Another said: “Piers just said that Heathrow airport is in the middle of the uk…Just would like to correct him cause he loves to correct everyone else.”

One person even asked Susanna Reid to tell her co-host that Heathrow isn’t in the middle of the country.

Earlier in the show, Piers left viewers in hysterics when he jokingly dared his boss to sack him.

The presenter was discussing last night’s episode of the brand new series of Love Island.

Piers, 53, went on an epic rant and had to apologise to viewers after calling the show a naughty word, which rhymes with “rap” and starts with the letter ‘c’.

Susanna told Piers: “I hate to point this out to you but you’ve literally chosen this morning to inspire a complaint to Ofcom and to trash one of ITV’s biggest programmes.”

Piers then quipped: “Brilliant how your cowardly little mind works. ‘Oh the boss is in I better be on best behaviour’.”

“I think the opposite. Come on son, fire me. Take away your rock star and leave everyone with these three. For me, it’s not a difficult choice.”
