Piers Morgan claims he has to colour match outfits with Susanna Reid

He was back on GMB on Monday and already unhappy!

| Updated:

Piers Morgan moaned he was forced to wear a yellow tie on Good Morning Britain because co-hosts Susanna Reid and Charlotte Hawkins both chose yellow dresses.

The former newspaper editor was back on the show Monday following a half-term break looking rather, er, tanned…

His newly-bronzed-slash-red glow didn’t go unnoticed by viewers, with one cheekily tweeting: “Your bright red suntanned face doesn’t go with your yellow tie lol.”

Piers, 53, read out the tweet live on air before launching into an explanation of why he was wearing yellow.

“Obviously, if you have a head like this, pulsating with sunburn, you would never wear a bright yellow tie,” he said.

“But as always, you may have noticed that my co-workers chose yellow, so I then have to wear yellow. See how it works in television? Sexist…”

Susanna, 47, objected by saying the yellow dresses had been chosen for them.

She than joked to Piers: “And do you mean that there is someone in this building who has the power to tell you what to do and you obey them?”

Piers replied: “No. It means the reason I look so ridiculous is merely because it matches your chosen dress.”

Susanna again insisted: “It’s not my dress, but the choice of the person who chose your tie!”

Piers and Susanna were back on Good Morning Britain on Monday after a week off-screen over half-term.

And no doubt Piers wishes he was still on holiday as he voiced his boredom over Love Island starting again on ITV2 tonight.

He opened Monday’s GMB with some rather snide comments!

Piers quipped: “Love Island! Oh, yes, yes, yes! The biggest collection of brain deficient half-wits in the world amassed once more on an island where they can objectify themselves with semi-nudity to their hearts’ content and then all promise to have undenying love for each other, get married, have children, then last for three weeks…”
