Piers Morgan teases rival Dan Walker as GMB takes huge swipe at BBC Breakfast

He's at it again!

The battle between Piers Morgan and his breakfast TV rival Dan Walker continues!

Piers has revealed a large digital billboard advertising Good Morning Britain has been placed outside the BBC Breakfast studios in Manchester.

Speaking about the “not your average breakfast” promo, Piers said during Monday’s GMB: “What we thought we’d do for a bit of fun, we were trying to think, ‘where could we put this, on a rolling loop all day long, on a giant digital billboard?'”

Piers continued: “So we chose, you may recognise this, this is the BBC Breakfast headquarters, up in Salford, Manchester.

“So everyone who arrives the BBC Breakfast offices today will be confronted by a rolling loop of how brilliant Good Morning Britain is.”

“Apparently, Walker isn’t in today. But the others, when they pop up today, [Louise] Minchin, [Charlie] Stayt… [they’ll see it].”

The outspoken presenter added: “It’ll start to annoy them once they realise what’s going on. Then they’ll try and get it removed and they can’t legally, it’s there all day.

“We’ll find out when Walker is back and do it all over again!”

Piers also teased BBC Breakfast on Twitter, saying: “Morning @BBCBreakfast I hope you’re enjoying our new @GMB promo… running on permanent loop all day right outside your offices.”

Dan, who is currently in Russia for the World Cup, did spot Piers’ tweet and replied.

He wrote: “I’m not sure what they’ve told you Mr Morgan but that’s the side that no-one looks at. A magnificent example of art imitating life.”

Piers retorted: “We did it that way today because we heard you were skiving off so would only see it on TV.”

Piers and Dan are always taking swipes at each other and often get into Twitter spats.

Last month, Piers expressed his delight over GMB having its highest audience share in four years.

He tweeted: “BREAKING: Last week, Good Morning Britain had its highest audience share since the show started 4yrs ago. Thanks for watching! (Anyone got a lifeboat for @mrdanwalker).”

He added alongside a pic of champagne glasses clinking: “So it would appear that since @mrdanwalker joined @BBCBreakfast, @GMB has grown its share of the audience by 7%. Where can I send the champagne, mate?”

Piers then tweeted stats which claim his ITV show’s ratings have gone up since Dan joined BBC Breakfast.

He wrote above a picture of him laughing with co-host Susanna Reid: “So… @mrdanwalker joined @BBCBreakfast on Feb 29, 2016.

“Their ratings that day were 1.63m, 40% share. GMB ratings that day were 578k, 15% share. The @BBCBreakfast ratings for last Monday were 1.5m, 40% share. GMB ratings that day were 802k, 22% share.

“Thanks, Dan!!!!!!!!!!!”

Replying to Piers, Dan tweeted at the time: “I’ll keep it simple… WE GET DOUBLE THE AUDIENCE ‘Just can’t get excited by silver and bronze medals. You win or you lose. Gold is all that matters.’

“Piers Morgan, August 2016 #TearsForPiers Thanks for watching.”
