Piers Morgan is currently in hospital undergoing “extensive” tests, he has revealed.

Alongside a selfie of himself lying in hospital with tubes surrounding him, he wrote the message: “Bad news… after some extensive hospital tests this morning it appears I’m not going to die.

“I can only apologise for all the upset & offence I know this development will cause.”

Well, if the opinionated journalist and talk show host can joke about his popularity – or lack of it – then he MUST be okay!

While some fans were genuinely concerned about Piers, sending “get well soon” vibes, many saw the opportunity to give the polarising personality a taste of his own medicine – pardon the pun!

One fan tweeted: “Get well soon you annoying old trout .”

While another called Piers out for being a “drama queen”, others took the opportunity to make jokes about vegan diets – something Piers is notoriously outspoken about.

“You won’t see heaven at all,” joked another, while one more complimented Piers by tweeting: “Thanks goodness – breakfast television would be boring without you.”

“I didn’t know talking [bleep] was life threatening,” said one, while one more said: “I can’t stand you, but I’m glad you’re doing well. Feel better soon.”

While Piers did not elaborate for the reason for his hospital stay, he’s set to return to GMB as usual on Monday morning.

Get well soon Piers.
