Piers Morgan reveals ‘discomforting’ evacuation alerts as wildfires rage near his LA home

He's in Beverly Hills with his family

Fans have expressed their concern as Piers Morgan revealed he’s been warned to evacuate his Los Angeles home due to the California wildfires.

The Good Morning Britain host, 54, shared a photo of two evacuation alerts he received on his phone at 4am which warned him that the fires were less than three miles away.

Sharing the messages, Piers told fans: “Yikes. Rather discomforting messages to wake up to.

“The Getty museum is just 3 miles away. These fires are horrific, hard to explain to people back home how big and savage they get here in California, and how fast the changing winds can take them in completely different directions.”

Fans were quick to express their concerns.

One person said: “Stay safe mate,” while another wrote: “Come home Piers. The last thing we want is a national treasure to fall victim of these fires.”

A third commented: “Stay safe piers.”

On Monday, Piers jokingly threatened not to return to GMB after his co-star Susanna Reid seemed pretty happy to be sitting next to Adil Ray.

She joked on the show: “I said, when I come back I want Adil next to me, I don’t want mouthy Morgan.”

These fires are horrific, hard to explain to people back home how big and savage they get here in California.

Piers quickly caught wind of Susanna’s comments and wrote on Twitter: “Oh really? Well perhaps I should stay in LA then…”

His devoted fans were not impressed, however.

One person said: “No you better come back, it’s not the same without you.”

Another wrote: “If you stay in LA then the good morning show will suffer a huge drop in viewers.”

At the weekend, Piers shared a photo of himself enjoying a stroll along Manhattan Beach in California.

He wrote: “Best time for a Brit to hit the beach in LA is when the temperature plummets to 70 degrees & a few clouds appear.

“Then all the locals run inside before they freeze to death.”
