Piers Morgan and Dan Walker in vicious name-calling spat over Meghan

Piers took aim at Meghan over her and Harry's new documentary

Dan Walker and Piers Morgan are at loggerheads again and this time it’s over the Duchess of Sussex.

Piers took aim at Meghan and her husband Prince Harry following an ITV documentary, Harry and Meghan: An African Journey, which showed the couple visiting charities and locals in South Africa as part of their recent royal tour.

The Good Morning Britain host accused the pair of making their trip “all about their own terrible struggles”.

He tweeted: “Imagine being two staggeringly privileged royal multi-millionaires going to Africa to make a documentary that supposedly ‘shines a light’ on poverty, violence against women/girls & racial inequality – then in fact making it all about their own terrible struggle?

“I mean, FFS.”

Dan replied: “Imagine being given a TV show & a newspaper column and using them both to pick on a woman who didn’t want to go out for a second drink with you.”

Piers hit back: “Imagine being the dullest, most excruciatingly virtue-signalling, tediously opinion-devoid, toe-curlingly snivelling sycophant on TV?

“P.S, for the record, I never asked Meghan for a drink, she asked me.”

Imagine being given a TV show & a newspaper column and using them both to pick on a woman who didn’t want to go out for a second drink with you.

Dan replied: “Imagine losing the plot (and the argument) to the ‘dullest, most excruciatingly virtue-signalling, tediously opinion-devoid, toe-curlingly snivelling sycophant on TV.'”

He added the hashtag: “#TearsForPiers.”

Piers responded: “Mate, the only thing I lose when jousting with you is the will to live.”

But Dan wasn’t ready to give up just yet and hit back: “I’m disappointed with you. We are 4 tweets in and you haven’t compared twitter followers yet. Enjoy the rest of your Monday.”

Piers then brought up the fact he has 6.2 million more followers than Dan, saying: “Now you mention it, I currently have 6.2 million more followers than you, which makes me 11 times as popular.

“Not sure how you can enjoy your Monday after that, but good luck!”

Dan quipped: “You around for a drink later?” to which Piers said: “Sure. If you can afford to fly to Beverly Hills,” where he is currently holidaying during his half-term break from Good Morning Britain.

Piers’ co-star Susanna Reid appeared to back Dan and defended Meghan and Harry’s documentary.

She tweeted Piers saying: “Most of it was about the charity work they do. Hugely important. It was also an insight into their personal state of mind. Also important.”

It comes after Meghan opened up about the struggles she’s faced being in the spotlight as a member of the royal family.

She said during the documentary: “You’ve got to thrive, you’ve got to feel happy. And I think I really tried to adopt the British sensibility of a stiff upper lip. I’ve tried but I think that what that does internally is probably really damaging.

“I never thought this would be easy. But I thought it would be fair and that’s the part that’s really hard to reconcile. But I do just take each day as it comes.”
