Phillip Schofield’s tribute to Denise Robertson is breathtakingly beautiful

Presenter dedicated TV Choice Award to late agony aunt

This Morning presenter Phillip Schofield paid tribute to the wonderful Denise Robertson at the TV Choice Awards.

The host worked with the show’s agony aunt for years and dedicated the award to the beloved star who died earlier this year.

As he collected the Best Daytime Show prize, he said: “I want to dedicate this year to Denise Robertson. This was actually one of her favourite nights out so she would have loved this.”

Phillip and his co-host Holly Willoughby returned to the show after having the whole summer off, but said he saw no reason NOT to party.

They are such party animals!

He said: “Obviously it was our first morning back today after the seven-week summer holidays but there’s no reason why we couldn’t get piccalilli on that dress and drink some tequilas for Denise.”

Denise, who was 83 when she passed away was suffering from cancer and was on This Morning for an amazing 28 years.

Phillip couldn’t to show off This Morning’s award to his fans on Instagram. He captioned it: “What a first day back! Thank you TV Choice ”

Another winner was Mary Berry as she collected the prize for Best Talent Show for The Great British Bake Off and spoke about one of her favourite moments from the show.

Referring to the hilarious comedian Jo Brand, she said: “One of the most amusing times I’ve ever had was when this lady here was asked on Comic Relief to make a cake and soften the butter.

“We all know how to soften butter, but you were in doubt.”

Mary wiggled her bottom, and said: “She took the pack of butter, put it on a stool and did that.
