Phillip Schofield excites fans with news of his and Holly’s TV comeback

Not long to wait...

| Updated:

No offence to Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford – they’ve done an amazing job – but we’ve all been wondering when Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby will be returning to This Morning’s sofa.

The popular presenters have been enjoying a break from the show so that they can enjoy some sun and spend time with their families.

Well, finally, Phillip has put us out of our misery by revealing the date of their comeback.

Pencil it in your diaries, folks – we’ll be seeing their tanned faces again on September 4.

The big reveal came after a fan left Phillip, 55, a message on Twitter saying: “I don’t like #ThisMorning without @schofe :(”

Charitable Phillip decided to make the viewer’s day by responding: “Sept 4th,” alongside smiley-face and thumbs-up emojis.

And other fans quickly joined in with the chat to express their delight at the news.

Referring to Phillip’s hair colour, one wrote: “I can’t watch it without Silver Fox.”

Another cheered: “Normal service shall resume. Hoorah!”

And a third viewer enthused: “Not long now. I’ve missed you and @hollywills.”

Amusingly, Sarah Greene later made a cameo in the conversation. The 58-year-old has done a few guest slots with Rylan Clark-Neal while Phillip and Holly have been away.

One fan wrote that they agreed with the sentiment that Phillip and Holly, 36, would be welcomed back, but added: “Although, do love the gorgeous @RealSarahGreene. She’s such a natural. More Sarah, please.”

And Sarah was clearly chuffed with the praise, replying: “Thank you so much!”

However, it’s not all good news for Schofield fans. It was reported earlier this week that All Star Mr & Mrs – which he’s fronted since 2008 – will be “rested” this year, with some fearing that it’ll never come back.

We’d better make the most of him when he returns…
