Phil and Holly sorry over interview about Prince Harry’s ‘lover’

The segment was suddenly cut short

This Morning presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were left mystified when the show bizarrely cut to the Loose Women studio during a weird technical glitch.

Phillip apologised to viewers after the blunder during an interview about Prince Harry’s rumoured relationship with American actress Meghan Markle.

The duo were unaware of what was happening and carried on the discussion but apologised soon after.

Phillip said: “Apparently during our last interview for about four seconds you saw the Loose Women studio – we don’t know how that happened, but it did happen.”

Holly added: “Sorry about that, ” before her co-host said: “It was just a brief preview of what you’ll see later.”

When Halloween falls on a Monday, as it has this year, it stands to reason that the day might need a bit of jazzing up.

And that is exactly what This Morning stars Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield did as they celebrated the spookiest of seasons.

Usually dressed in their finest smart attire, the daytime TV hosts looked a world away from their usual selves in Beetlejuice-inspired ensembles.

Phillip looked fantastic in a black and white-striped suit and frizzy green wig as Beetlejuice himself, made famous on the big screen by Michael Keaton in the 1988 Tim Burton flick.

And Holly went from blonde bombshell to brunette and bonkers movie vixen, as Winona Ryder’s character Lydia Deetz.

Even This Morning’s resident pup Luna was dressed up!

They spent nearly half an hour off-air as they got ready in their Halloween costumes – as they had started the show in their normal garb – leaving stand-in presenters Rylan Clark-Neal and Alison Hammond to take charge of the programme.

Looking at Phillip, Holly said: “I’m slightly more frightened by the fact this character has overtaken you! What have you done with Phillip Schofield…? How are we going to focus on the show now?”

Phillip replied: “Remember, don’t say the B-word!… How am I going to take a selfie – look at my nails!”

As well as the stars’ makeovers, the entire ITV studio’s set was given a spooky new look, complete with spider webs draped all over.

We’re wondering how they’re going to top this when Christmas comes around…
