After Katie Price’s surgery, Peter Andre tells their kids ‘looks aren’t everything’

Singer's sending out a good message to Princess and Junior

After his ex-wife Katie Price recently underwent a complete body overhaul, Peter Andre has opened up about the body positive message he sends to their kids.

The couple are parents to Junior, 13, and Princess, 11.

And, while Pete eats healthy and works out to maintain his chiselled shape, Katie recently went under the knife, having cosmetic surgery procedures such as a face lift, breast implants, Botox and lip fillers.

Now Pete has spoken out about not wanting his kids – including Amelia, five, and Theo, two, with wife Emily MacDonagh – to grow up with insecurities.

He told Closer: “I want to instil into my kids the idea that there are much more important things than how you look. Looks aren’t everything.”

The 46-year-old star also opened up about the power of attraction, saying as he’s got older he’s realised it’s not just about looks, it’s about a person’s personality, too.

He said: “If you’re in love with someone, you can’t tell if they’ve put on a couple of kilos or got a couple of wrinkles. You bypass everything else – even though Emily happens to be absolutely stunning.”

The star, who shot to fame back in the ’90s, flaunting his rippling six-pack in the video to Mysterious Girl, also revealed that he has body insecurities.

Revealing that he feels “completely content” right now, Pete added: “The only thing I still struggle with is my confidence and body image. I’m still not comfortable walking down the beach with my shirt off.”

Pete’s comments come as his doctor wife Emily spoke about her views on “unnecessary” plastic surgery.

Speaking to OK!, Emily said: “I think it’s the surgeon’s responsibility to give honest advice about whether or not someone needs surgery.”

She added: “If you’re paying for a procedure it’s easy for surgeons to just agree to do it and take the money, but really their responsibility is to ensure they don’t do anything unnecessary.”
