Alongside a short video showing Pete posing with his new quiffed-up ‘do, which appears to be a very cleverly applied wig, he wrote: “Grease is a comin’ #grease @arlenephillipsofficial.”

Last year, it was announced that the pop singer was set to star in an adaptation of the musical Grease.

Pete was snapped up to play Teen Angel in a production based on the hit movie from the 1970s, which starred John Travolta and Olivia Newton John.

The show travels around the country from June 19, starting in Leeds and then moving on to towns like Southend, Birmingham, Glasgow, Oxford and Dublin.

With Pete busy on the road for the next few months, he’s also looking to crack the US after he appointed a new management team.

However, last month his wife Emily told reporters she didn’t want to move to America.

“Pete is very good, he always contacts us when he’s away. He is never away for more than a few days at a time,” she said.

Asked if she would move to the US, she said: “No, we’ve got school age kids.”
