Pete Burns spoke about dying on TV show just weeks ago

Singer has passed away at the age of 57

Pete Burns, whose death from cardiac arrest has been announced today, spoke about dying on TV just last month.

The singer appeared on Channel 5 series Celebrity Botched Up Bodies and discussed the cosmetic surgery procedures which almost killed him.

The 57-year-old former Celebrity Big Brother housemate revealed he was left fighting for his life for 10 days from the medication he was taking for the operations.

“I developed blood clots and pulmonary embolisms in my legs, heart and lungs,” he admitted.

“I got these black marks on my skin and I thought they were bruises.

“The next thing my driver came in and I was unconscious, not breathing.”

Pete concluded by saying: “I hope when I’m 80 and I get to heaven God doesn’t recognise me.”

The Dead or Alive star died on Sunday after suffering a cardiac arrest, his management said.

A statement said: “It is with the greatest sadness that we have to break the tragic news that our beloved Pete Burns of (Dead Or Alive), died suddenly yesterday of a massive cardiac arrest.

“All of his family and friends are devastated by the loss of our special star.

“He was a true visionary, a beautiful talented soul, and he will be missed by all who loved and appreciated everything he was and all of the wonderful memories the has left us with.

“We have no more words, we will make a further statement when we have had a chance to come to terms with our devastating loss.

“He will live forever in our memories.

“Sending you all our love. Lynne, Michael, Steve.”
