Holby City pays tribute following death of cast member

Moses Mahgoub took his own life

Holby City bosses dedicated Tuesday night’s episode (1 May) to a former star who tragically took his own life.

After the credits rolled, a black screen appeared with the words written in white: “In memory of Moses Mahgoub.”

The actor, who had appeared in several episodes of the medical drama, died in February.

Former Holby star Chizzy Akudolu, who has opened up in the past about her own battle with depression, wrote: “Thank you Holby City for the dedication to our beautiful Moses. Rest in perfect peace buddy.”

One viewer added: “RIP Moses Mahgoub, as looked up who he was and what happened. Sorry to hear, mental health is serious, wish people realise the struggles.”

Another said Moses had been “loved by many in the TV industry”.

Moses had struggled with mental health issues during his life, and had been diagnosed with depression.

Tragically, suicide is the biggest killer of men under 45, a devastating issue that Coronation Street is tackling in its upcoming Aidan Connor storyline.
