Paul O’Grady “terrified” of waking up and finding an alien in his bedroom

Broadcaster is worried he'll be visited by ET

| Updated:

Paul O’Grady believes aliens could be watching him after spotting strange lights moving in the sky above his Kent home.

The 62-year-old broadcaster said he even fears he could come face-to-face with a creature from another planet soon.

“I am terrified of waking up one night and seeing an alien at the end of my bed like ET going ‘eeeee!'” he admitted on his BBC Radio 2 show on Sunday.

The dog-lover raised the topic of extra-terrestrial life after hearing singer Kim Wilde talk about seeing similar lights over her Hertfordshire house.

Paul said: “I was listening to Kim Wilde and she was going on about aliens, we’ve got them in Kent, I’m serious, it’s been in all the Kent papers.

“I have seen them and I’m not the only one so I am not going out of my mind. These strange, light formations in the sky. I don’t know what they are.

“The Army, they said, ‘no it wasn’t them sending flares up, they had nothing to do with it’, as there’s an Army base down there.”

The presenter said he’s open-minded about other life forms being in the universe saying, “you don’t know do you?”

He said of what he’s seen: “It’s funny I’ll be out taking the dogs round the orchard and there will be these lights… I am being observed.”

Asked by his sceptical producer if it could be the paparazzi, Paul scoffed: “It’s not paps as they don’t normally go up in hot air balloons at 2am in the morning.”

Local press in Kent reported in December that residents had seen mysterious lights moving in the night sky.

Meanwhile, Kim Wilde recently told the BBC that she’d also seen usual activity in the sky, which inspired her new album called Here Come The Aliens.

She said of her paranormal experience: “Then I looked up in the sky and saw this huge bright light behind a cloud. Brighter than the moon, but similar to the light from the moon.

“I said to my husband and my friend, ‘that’s really odd,’ so we walked down the grass and looked to see if there was any source.

“All of a sudden it moved, very quickly, from about 11.00 to 1.00. Then it just did that, back and forth, for several minutes.

“Whenever it moved, something shifted in the air – but it was silent. Absolutely silent.”
