The police have been called

A shocking new report claims convicted paedophile Rolf Harris walked onto the grounds of a primary school and waved at the kids through the window.

The school’s head teacher has spoken out about the incident, revealing that he asked Harris to leave and has reported the incident to the police.

Richard Jarrett, who is the head at Oldfield Primary School in Maidenhead, Berks confirmed to The Mirror: “I have just got off the phone with the police because I think it’s something they should know about.”

He explained that the 88-year-old former TV star – who was released from jail in May 2017 after his conviction for sexually assaulting young girls – lives just a few doors down from his school.

Mr Jarrett added that it was the first time Rolf had entered the school gates, and it was to speak to an artist who was on the grounds, working.

He said: “I went over and shook his hand and introduced myself. He explained what he was doing – that he was getting some wood from the sculptor. I said, ‘You need to go’… I was not there at the time to stop him waving at the children.”

An onlooker added that he saw the incident, adding: “I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.” And parents are understandably said to be outraged that the sex offender was anywhere near their children.

He actually served just under three years in Stafford prison, and a statement at the time, read by his lawyer said: “I feel no sense of victory, only relief.

“I’m 87 years old, my wife is in ill health and we simply want to spend our remaining time together in peace.”

The television personality became famous in the 1950s and later starred in popular shows including Rolf’s Cartoon Time.

He was arrested in 2013 and charged a year later for 12 indecent assaults against girls aged between seven and 19.

The offences took place between 1968 and 1986, and one of the victims was his daughter Bindi’s friend, who he abused from the age of 13 to 19.
