Lindsay Lohan is recovering after a nasty boating accident that almost led to her permanently losing half her ring finger.
The former child star took to Snapchat on Sunday to share the gruesome details with her followers.
Across a photo showing the ring finger on her left-hand heavily bandaged the 30-year-old wrote: “I almost lost my finger from the anchor.
“Well, I lost half my finger, thank goodness we found the piece of my finger…
“I just had surgery to fix it. It hurts so bad.”
TMZ is reporting that Lindsay was sailing off the coast of Turkey on Sunday when the freak accident occurred.
According to the website she was trying to pull up the anchor and became “entangled in it.”
The accident happened when the weight of the anchor pulled her down while she tried to get back up into the boat, TMZ is reporting.
Thankfully her friends found the missing digit and a surgeon reattached it to the actress’s hand.
In a Snapchat video, afterwards the Freaky Friday star said: “This is the result of me trying to help anchor the boat by myself. My poor finger.”
In an Instagram post, which she has since been deleted she wrote: “This is why I shouldn’t try to help get the rope to anchor the boat. I lost half of my finger…”
Graphic pictures of her hand before the surgery have since appeared on TMZ.
Lindsay has had a tumultuous romance this summer with her on-again, off-again, ex-fiancé, Russian businessman Egor Tarabasov.
She has recently been visiting Syrian refugees in Turkey. A source told the New York Post: “She spends time interacting with the kids – listening to them, hearing their stories.”
The person added: “Lindsay has always been passionate about children, especially those impacted by circumstances outside their control.
“She loves the work.”
