Olly Murs opens up on finding love again following heartbreak

The singer has been single for three years

After being single for three years, Olly Murs has admitted he’s ready to find love again.

The Troublemaker singer told The Sun’s Fabulous magazine that he would like to have a new relationship but doesn’t know how long he’ll have to wait to find “The One”.

“I’m hoping with the next person I meet it’s instant and moves in the right direction and it feels amazing. That’s what I’d love. Whoever I meet it’s gonna be a moment of us both looking for that,” he said.

But he added that he’s not in any rush to settle down.

“I might not meet her until I’m 50! I’m not gonna chase it – it’ll happen when it happens,” he said.

Olly’s last relationship was with Francesca Thomas – who is now engaged to a new man.

The 34-year-old admitted he learnt a lot from their break-up and he would do things differently when he meets someone new.

“I don’t feel like I treated my ex-girlfriend badly – I treated her well, actually. It was a good relationship, but my priorities were different to what they would be if I was with someone now,” he explained.

He confessed he should have put Francesca “first more” when they were together but he was too focused on his career, having a number of hit singles following his time on The X Factor.

As a result, he recently joked to The Mirror that he might have to use his role on The Voice as a way to meet women – even though it’s against the rules!

He said: “Spinning these chairs could be the only way I ever could find love. It’s like speed dating. I only get to hear their voice so it would be love at first sight.”

He added: “I don’t think I’m allowed to date contestants though. I think I would be sacked. But you never know. Crazier things have happened.

“It would be amazing if I did find love on The Voice.”

It wouldn’t be the first time it’s happened after Denise Van Outen got together with Lee Mead after he was a contestant and she was a judge on Any Dream Will Do, and Cheryl Tweedy had a baby with Liam Payne years after they first met when he auditioned for The X Factor when she was a judge.
