The feud between Olly Murs and his brother has become so extreme, that Ben has ditched the family’s surname.
Ben has taken drastic action and dropped the name Murs and now takes his wife Amy’s surname, Hart.
Olly and Ben fell out in 2009 when the singer failed to attend his brother’s wedding to compete in the X Factor semi-finals.
None of the family have spoken to Ben since he called Olly a “self-obsessed sell out” for skipping his best man duties.
The drastic action of Ben removing his surname comes after mum of the twins Vickylynn revealed the feud between her sons has made her ill.
She is heartbroken after Ben decided to disown the family.
The 55-year-old told the Sunday Times Magazine: “I even thought I had MS – I had to use a walking stick because my legs were so weak. I also couldn’t work. I was on the verge of a breakdown.
“I’m much better now but my heart is broken. Ben’s broken my heart and his dad’s, but I will not hear anything against him.
“I don’t think he understands what he’s done. I’ll go on loving him and sticking up for him until I die.”
Olly, 32, has also spoken to the magazine about the rift. He added: “We don’t speak to my twin brother and that’s been extremely difficult. Long before X factor there were problems between Ben and his girlfriend and our family.
“He made the decision not to speak to the family… But the door’s always open for him to come back.”
Ben spoke to News of the World on his wedding day.
“Something was missing and that was Olly. It’s clear people like Simon Cowell are more important to him than me,” he said.
“Our family was torn apart because of The X Factor. Things have got to the point where if I have children, I don’t even want Olly to meet them.
“I watch my brother – the same person I shared a womb with – on TV now and it’s like I don’t even know who he is.”
However, Olly is adamant that there were problems with his brother before he appeared on the X Factor.
He said: “His wedding was his excuse for not having me in his life anymore.
“He got into a relationship with his now wife, and I don’t think she ever liked us as a family.”
Oh come on you two, life is too short!
