Nigel Havers reveals he was ‘snubbed’ by This Morning after divisive presenting slot

He hosted with Lisa Snowdon and was never asked back...

Nigel Havers has revealed that his offer to return to present This Morning has fallen on deaf ears… As in, don’t call us, we’ll call you!

The actor, 67, co-hosted the ITV morning show last summer alongside Lisa Snowdon and enjoyed it so much, he asked if he could do it again.

However, he has now revealed that the producers of the flagship show have declined his offer to return! Awks.

Nigel and Lisa filled in for Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford last August, and their appearance on the famous couch divided viewers.

Some loved them and wanted them to stay instead of Eamonn and Ruth, but others believed Nigel was “out of his comfort zone”.

Today (Wednesday 20 February), Nigel appeared on Good Morning Britain and admitted he enjoyed his experience.

Talking to Richard Madeley and Kate Garraway about his guest stint, he said: “Well they asked me to do it and I’d never done anything like that before.

“I really loved it. At the end I said that was really good fun and if you ever want me to do it again, I’d be more than happy.”

Then revealing the response he received, Nigel added: “And they went… ‘anyway’.”

Luckily, both Nigel and the GMB hosts saw the funny side and burst into laughter.

Despite Nigel never having presented a live magazine TV show before, things went smoothly at the time, with barely a hitch.

However, some fans were left cold with one believing Nigel was “out of his comfort zone” and a fellow viewer commenting that he and co-host Lisa weren’t “bouncing off each other very well”.

But others loved Nigel’s style, with one calling him “absolute genius” and another saying he was a “natural”.

Nigel played con-artist Lewis Archer in Coronation until he died of a heart attack during explosive Christmas storylines.
