Nicole Scherzinger REFUSES to discuss turning 40 in an interview

She just doesn't wanna go there

Maybe it’s because her youthful visage belies the date on her birth certificate.

Or perhaps it’s just down to her thinking it’s no one’s darn business, but it’s very clear that X Factor judge and former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger does NOT want to talk about her impending big four-oh.

And in an interview with The Sun’s Fabulous magazine, Nic didn’t even acknowledge the notion of a ‘milestone birthday’, asking the interviewer: “A what?”

When reminded that she will be celebrating her 40th next June, Nicole’s reply was reportedly delivered in only a “half-joking” manner.

“No, we’re not even talking about that,” she said.

Wow.

She then went on to explain that she was “living in the moment, right now” and that she was “holding on to these 30s forever”.

Which is fair enough, right? (And obvs a whole lot easier when you look a decade younger…)

The intrepid interviewer was determined to get to the bottom of Nicole’s anti-40 stance though, and changed tack, asking Scherzy if she thought she’d changed between 30 and 40.

But nope. Still not discussing it.

“I already said we ain’t even talking about this (swear word) because I ain’t even in the 40s. So I wouldn’t know.” Nicole replied. We assume VERY firmly.

She was happy though to talk about how life changes once you come out of your 20s. Hurrah.

“You become more balanced in your 30s and more loving of yourself,” she told the mag. “In your 20s there’s more angst. I was more all over the place, full throttle and emotional. I still am, but I deal with things better. I was like a pistol in my 20s.”

Nicole went on to say that it was a “lifelong journey” trying to figure things out, but said that she never worries about ageing – although did ‘fess up that it “does get a little scary when the numbers start to change”.

“All you can do is grow older gracefully and know it doesn’t take anything away from the child in you. I still feel like I’m 21. Age is just a number.”

Indeed. Just as long as it’s not 40, right Nicole?
