Nick Knowles dumps Emmerdale star in attempt to save marriage

He thinks he can reconcile with his estranged wife

TV presenter Nick Knowles has revealed that he won’t be seeing former Emmerdale star Gemma Oaten for anymore intimate dates, as he is looking to save his marriage.

The DIY SOS host has said that he is looking to reconcile with estranged wife Jessica.

There had been pictures of of Nick cosying up to Gemma after an awards ceremony in London but it seems that their dating days together are now over.

Speaking to The Mirror, 53-year-old Nick has said that he will be looking to mend his marriage, rather than go dating.

He split from his wife Jessica in January, who he has a two-year-old son with.

He said: “Gemma and I are not dating. We went on a date.

“The nature of my work means it’s very difficult to go on a date without everybody making a much bigger deal of it.

“She’s a lovely girl but I’m not in a place at the moment where I am looking to date anybody.”

He added: “I have a relationship with Jessica and we are best friends.

“We are working through things.

“We treat our relationship and parenting as the most important thing in our lives.

“We’ve had a really difficult year, but through all of the difficulties Jessica stayed my best friend and we’re still deeply close.”

Jessica has had some good news recently in that she has been given the all clear from cervical cancer.

She had surgery and says that Nick saved her life by insisting that she saw a doctor.

Nick has credited a BBC2 documentary for helping give him a new outlook on life.

He spent 28 days in Thailand, filming at a fitness and wellbeing resort and it has seemingly changed his attitude.

As well as losing 9 kilos, he came back ready to renew relationships with Jessica.

He said: “I spent a lot of time trying to work to look after my family and had forgotten to look after me.

“I think that’s true for a lot of people.

“I think the biggest difficulty people have to deal with in modern life is, how much do you work to provide for your family versus not spending time with your family or partner?

“I don’t think I’d got that right and had lost track of it.

“I learned therapeutic yoga and ways to slow my breathing down at critical moments so I’m much more in control of myself, happier with myself, happier with my mental wellbeing.

“In a better position with my outlook on life.”
