Nadia Sawalha has shared a photo of herself in a bikini from some 20 years ago.
The Loose Women star, 55, expressed her anger over how uncomfortable she appears in the beach snap.
She says that she felt “ugly” at the time and was desperately trying to cover her body.
But now that she has embraced body positivity, she says she is proud to show off her bikini bod.
Taking to Instagram she vented her frustration at her old self.
She also encouraged others to love themselves and not repeat her mistakes from the past.

Sharing in view of her some 306,000 followers, she penned:

Saying …
“Just had to send this to you two because it so perfectly sums up the old Nadia……look at the horror on your face because I was taking a photo of you!!!
“And my god she’s right. I can actually remember the moment @the_mcgiff took the photo . I almost wanted to cry because I thought I was so ‘hideous’ a word I used all the time to describe myself back then … look at me trying to cover my body??
“It leaves me feeling so sad when I look back and think about how much of that holiday I wasted with ‘stinking thinking ‘ feeling ‘ugly ‘ comparing my figure constantly to @kayeadamsofficial and @the_mcgiff gorgeous bodies .
“What a bloody waste of time. What a sacrilege.

“It’s makes me so cross and if I’m honest leaves me a little ashamed that I was so unaware of the pointlessness of it all.

The final snap shows Nadia this year proudly posing in her bikini.
Fans rushed to congratulate Nadia on her uplifting message.
One user praised: “Perfect then and still perfect now. Except you’re more stunning now because you’re confident…. or as you like to say ‘fake it till you make it’.”
Another user gushed: “So good you don’t think that way anyway more. You were and still are so beautiful.”
Nadia also offered direct advice to users that are still timid to rock a two piece.
One user lamented: “It’s so hard though. Even with all the positive messages. It’s still hard. I struggle every day. Xx”
Nadia replied sympathetically: “So do I hunny… I really do… but I just keep reeling myself that I wouldn’t let a stranger talk to me as horribly as I do.
“We let very nasty people live in our heads. It does take time and hard work to make a change xx.”
