She wrote: “Happy anniversary @mark_adderley 18 years ago today we had our first kiss and egg and fag sandwich!

“What a night, what a rollercoaster since! I know we drive each other nuts and fight like cat and dog but I love you with all my heart.

“You are the smartest, kindest, funniest man I could have hoped for. You think I saved your life, but you too saved mine, god knows where I was heading!”

She added: “What a ‘beautiful disaster’ the last 18 years have been. Here’s to the rest of the ride gorgeous!”

Mark also shared a tribute to Nadia on Instagram alongside a snap of them on holiday.

He wrote: “Wowzers! 18yrs ago today I read my call sheet – and my instructions were ‘Pick Up Presenter’ at 18.00 hours… who’d have thunk it heh @nadiasawalhaandfamily?!?

“That I took those words quite so literally… a wonderful time… with someone who is a wonderful wife.

“It’s been up and down like a boat in a storm… but given we both love the sea, the wind in our hair and aren’t afraid of diving to new hidden depths of feelings for each other…

“Here’s to another 8 years of me ‘picking up the presenter.'”

Nadia commented: “Ha ha ha! Another thing I love about you is that you’re such a good bloody writer.”
