This Morning is not normally the place to find four-letter swear words but presenter Eamonn Holmes was forced to apologise to viewers after a live outburst that shocked viewers.

TV star Paddy Doherty, who has been quite liberal with his foul language on The Big Fat Gypsy Wedding and during his stint in the Celebrity Big Brother house, must have forgotten that this was live morning TV.

In an interview to discuss his eight-year-old granddaughter’s wishes to leave school, Paddy let rip with the ‘F-word’ that left hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford sweating.

Eamonn was forced to apologise for what was said: “I just want to say that something may have slipped out from Paddy during that interview.

“We would like to say sorry in case you were offended by anything that was said that shouldn’t have been said.”

Discussing his own “poor” education in his younger days, Irish Traveller Paddy said he was bullied because of his heritage.

He said: “We were nothing, like muck on a shoe. I’d just go sign in and f***ing sit in a corner.”

He apologised immediately for his language, while Eamonn addressed the swearing following the ad break.

Viewers were full of praise for his granddaughter, though gave Paddy a slap on the wrists for his language…

Paddy, who won Celebrity Big Brother in 2011, is a prominent figure in the Traveller community, which will be under the spotlight as a new Channel 5 series explores childhood in Gypsy and Traveller communities

Gypsy Kids: Our Secret World airs on Channel 5 on Thursday at 9pm.
