Singer was the victim of a shocking attack in the street

Pop Idol winner Michelle McManus has revealed she was attacked in the street by a man with a guitar case.

Taking to Twitter, she told followers she was in Glasgow when the incident, which damaged her jaw, occurred.

The Scottish singer-turned-DJ, who appeared on Lorraine last year to talk about life after Pop Idol and her upcoming wedding, tweeted about what happened to her, telling fans it was an unprovoked attack.

“When your life is amazing but then a man you don’t know assaults you for no reason. #whatdoesntkillyou xxx”.

Shocked by her revelation, fans responded wanting to know what had happened to her.

“For no reason he battered me across the face with his guitar case”, she replied.

Ouch, sounds nasty.

She went on to say the police had been “amazing” but that her jaw was injured.

Not one to shy away from confrontation though, Michelle named the man involved in the altercation and revealed where he worked.

She says she was attacked on the Kilmarnock Road in the Shawlands area of Glasgow on Saturday night.

The assault was reported to the police, who Michelle had nothing but praise for:

“Thankyou so much for all of your kind messages. Still trying to process what happened to me last night. The police were fantastic xxx”, she wrote.
