Michelle Keegan reveals plans to have children with Mark Wright

The couple have been married for nearly three years

They’ll have been married for three years this May so Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright are often asked when they might have children.

And in a new interview with Star magazine, Michelle confirmed it’s something they both want – but not yet!

When asked if children were “on the cards soon”, the Our Girl actress replied: “I definitely want kids in the future. But nothing is planned yet.”

That echoes what Michelle told Daily Mail’s You magazine at the weekend, where she said: “I do want kids. Mark wants kids. We are in complete agreement on that. It’s just not the right time.

“We’re both still setting ourselves up in what we do. But I know that when the instinct kicks in and I feel it’s right, it will happen. Then we’ll have to think about where we live. But not quite yet.”

Last week Mark also hinted that children will be in the couple’s future, but they’re not ready to take that step yet given where they currently are in their careers.

“We haven’t got kids yet. While we are young and chasing our dreams, we make sure things are good,” he told Lorraine.

Mark, 31, and Michelle, 30, are currently having a long-distance relationship after he moved to LA for his job as an entertainment reporter for Extra.

The former Coronation Street actress has remained in the UK to be close to the rest of her family and to carry out her numerous work commitments.

Mark said they “make it work” around their hectic schedules by flying to see one another as much as they can.

“The minute I get time off, I fly home, the minute she gets a few days off, she flies here. There are flights three to fours times a day from Heathrow to LA, so we make it work, we’re young,” he said.

The couple have had to fend off rumours their relationship could be in trouble because they spend so much time apart, but Mark pointed out they see one another more than people think, they just don’t always “report” it.

Michelle agreed, saying their favourite “date night” is just staying in together watching telly which is why they aren’t often pictured together out and about.
