Michael McIntyre revealed that once lost an enormous 14lbs weight in ONE Week after an extreme cleanse.
The funnyman, 44, said the regime – that included drinking Epsom salts – left him “emotional, depressed and confused”.
What was Michael McIntyre doing on the diet?
Speaking on Jessie Ware’s Table Manners podcast, Michael said that he undertook the extreme cleanse when he visited Australia in 2017.
Reflecting on his experience, he said that he and comic pal Paul Tonkinson visited the Mayr clinic.
During their stay, he revealed that the pair existed on Epsom salts and soup and crackers.
While Michael’s weight loss was significant, he said Paul lost an incredible 20lbs in a week.
What did Michael’s diet consist of?
Dad-of-two Michael recalled the regime: “You drink the Epsom salts first thing and then within 20 minutes, the whole of the clinic – which is full of wealthy fat people – are all rushing to the lavatory.
“I lost a stone – we were only there six days.
“I was so emotional, depressed and confused and Paul was skeletal.”
He also said that Paul “almost died” when he went for a hike in the woods and full effect of the diet took hold.
What else has Michael been up to?
Earlier this summer, viewers were in tears during emotional scenes on Michael’s BBC show, Michael McIntyre’s Big Laughs.
The series saw Michael look back over the funniest moments from his Big Show series.
During one episode, there was a heart-warming moment Michael when reunited a mum named Angela and her son.
Angela had not seen son Alan in eight years because he was living in New Zealand.
And when he surprised her, there were tears.
Just what we needed during lockdown.
Michael is currently starring in his Netflix special.
